DENVER, April 5, 2024 Astroscale U.S., a leading provider of on-orbit services and logistics across all orbits, announces Colonel, U.S. Army (Retired) Dennis Wille as Senior Director of Business Development for National Security.

“We are delighted to welcome Dennis to the expanding Astroscale U.S. business development and solutions team, said Jack Deasy, Senior Vice President of Business Development & Advanced Systems at Astroscale U.S. After 20 years as a U.S. Army space professional, Dennis is a recognized leader in national security space and will enhance Astroscale’s ability to deliver value-added solutions to support government missions, and the safe and sustainable development of space for future generations. Dennis joins the team as part of a broader enhancement of our customer engagement, which includes establishing a new team under Mike Pereira as Director of Capture and Bid and the promotion of Brett Silcox to Vice President of Government Relations.”

Wille comes to Astroscale after a military career of nearly 30 years, most recently serving at the Pentagon as both the Chief of the Washington Liaison Office and the Chief of Legislative Affairs for United States Space Command. Beginning as an Armor officer in 1995, he transitioned to the U.S. Army’s cadre of space professionals in 2005, ultimately serving as a space operations staff officer in the U.S., Europe and the Middle East. While deployed in Iraq from late 2007 to early 2009, Wille worked as part of the Multi-National Division – Baghdad to integrate space and other technical capabilities into the command’s counterinsurgency operations. During his year-long tour in Afghanistan at ISAF Joint Command as a military planner, he focused on integrating non-military applications into NATO’s overall approach to defeating the Taliban.

Wille also served two years as the senior space officer at United States Army Europe, where he supervised the integration of space, cyber and electronic warfare capabilities into NATO and Joint land operations and exercises. Prior to joining U.S. Space Command, he served as a military fellow at New America, a D.C.-based think tank, as part of the Chief of Staff of the Army’s Senior Fellowship program.

Wille joins Astroscale at a time of burgeoning government and commercial operator interest in the company’s on-orbit servicing solutions. His national security experience complements the business development team and helps strengthen the company’s market-facing capabilities.
